More than 12,000 cyclists will be out pedalling tomorrow to raise money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.

The riders will be cycling along the traffic-free Gardiner Expressway and up the Don Valley Parkway during the 20th annual Becel Heart and Stroke Ride for Heart, said Rocco Rossi, CEO of the heart and stroke foundation.

"Our goal for 2007 is $2.7 million and we have reached 75% of that goal to date. It looks like this will be a record-breaking ride," Rossi said.

Little Kailey Simmons is gearing up to take part in her second Stroll for Liver walk to raise money for the Canadian Liver Foundation.

Last September, Kailey, 18 months, received a life-saving liver transplant after spending most of her young life at the Hospital for Sick Children.

"We took part in the walk last year and it turned out to be the weekend before she ended up in the hospital," said Kailey's mom, Lisa Simmons.
