I am referring, of course, to Toronto City Hall and the elected clowns who reside there and while I can appreciate the humourous side of this I would think there are more important things they should be doing.

QUEEN SANDRA IS NOT AMUSED

The woman who would be Queen of all of England and the colonies is at again.

Not content with simply being named speaker for this session of Toronto council, Sandra Bussin is determined to get her due -- in the City Hall phone directory, of all things.

It seems that when the newly updated directory came out earlier this week, the Beaches-East York politician was miffed to learn that she'd only been referred to as a lowly councillor.

It didn't much please Her Imperiousness either that her colleague Joe Pantalone -- deputy mayor again -- was given his due in the phone book.

So Queen Sandra had her assistant Trish Nember dash off an e-mail to the commoners who put together the listing asking that it be updated to refer to her properly as councillor and council speaker!

This prompted her colleague Kyle Rae -- never one to miss an opportunity to be cheeky -- to issue his own e-mail reply to all councillors, the mayor's office and senior managers:

"As the recognized 'King' of Downtown, please add the letters HRH in front of my name in the directory!" he wrote.

We can only imagine what's next for Queen Sandra! Perhaps a throne, sceptre and cloak to enhance her image as speaker?
