Wind power and property values

Wednesday January 03, 2007
Property devaluation by wind power projects is a hot topic in this region and it seems that no one believes there are any benefits to the towering structures other than the energy they produce. Still, developments are being proposed all over the countryside.
Companies such as Suncor and Enbridge who have projects planned in the area say they have no evidence of negative implications on real estate values.
But while they may not have figures quoted in their studies to show such, who can argue that home without a nearby turbine would be worth more than one with a turbine? It’s just common sense. Turbines are not golf courses after all.
Wind projects have been put on hold in Ontario until the transmission shortage can be resolved, and it’s a good thing, considering all the opposition they’re facing. Maybe this time will give residents and wind power companies a chance to communicate more freely and come to some sort of agreement. Because the way it’s looking now, both sides have a long way to go to meet on middle ground.

I lean to the right but I still have a heart and if I have a mission it is to respond to attacks on people not available to protect themselves and to point out the hypocrisy of the left at every opportunity.MY MAJOR GOAL IS HIGHLIGHT THE HYPOCRISY AND STUPIDITY OF THE LEFTISTS ON TORONTO CITY COUNCIL. Last word: In the final analysis this blog is a relief valve for my rants/raves.
