Based On The Toronto City Hall Permanent Exhibit

Tories' parody could get up preem's nose

By CHIP MARTIN, SUN MEDIA

The Progressive Conservatives unveiled a secret weapon yesterday in their bid to replace Dalton McGuinty's Liberals on the government benches at Queen's Park -- humour.

On a quiet Sunday afternoon on the campaign trail, the Conservatives introduced the "Dalton McGuinty I Need That Money Machine" at an event in Etobicoke.

The machine is a phone booth-sized Plexiglas enclosure in which a red-hatted character with a Pinocchio nose tries to stuff paper money into his pockets as an air jet forces the money into the air around him.

As the character grabs at airborne currency, a tape recording of McGuinty saying "I need that money" is played.

Tim Hudak, the finance critic for the Conservatives, said the exhibit will soon hit the campaign trail and make appearances across Ontario.
