I was browsing the news today, reading about yet another reckless Tamil rampage over the streets of Toronto, when a photograph caught my eye.
The sign being held up looked awfully familiar, so I headed into my archives to see if I could find another one like it. Sure enough, I found one, but the message was a little bit different. It was from a rally against the “occupation of Afghanistan”. A look at the fine print [get out that monocle] shows that the sign originates from a little site called the Toronto Coalition to Stop the War. Which war? Ah, they’re not too picky about which one. Any will do. You see, they’re a “peace organization in the Greater Toronto Area, representing over 60 labour, student, faith and community groups.”
