This is the part of the film in which the eager young cast of actors and dancers, having just staged what they hope will be a hit, celebrate at someone's apartment while they wait for the reviews to come in.

Suddenly the door bursts open and the second lead bustles in carrying an armload of newspapers.

"Quick Jerry," chirps a girl from the chorus. "What's it say?"

Jerry tosses the papers on a table, grabs the top one, scans it, and ... uh-oh.

Gloom descends. "Jerry," repeats the girl, growing alarmed. "What's it say?"

But Jerry tosses the paper aside. "Aw heck," he grumps. "Who cares what they think anyway?"

Yeah, who cares?

If you're a Tory in Ottawa, the deal reached between Stephen Harper and Michael Ignatieff to avoid an election is a big victory, exposing the hollowness of the Liberal leader's threats, subjecting him to the continued taunts of the NDP and Bloc Quebecois and guaranteeing everyone in the House of Commons gets to build up pension credits for at least three more months.
