The heartbreaking suffering from the worldwide economic downturn (hereafter known as WED) continues unabated.
Yesterday we learned that hard times in the U.S. was making like more difficult for Nigerian scam artists, who are inding it more difficult to find incredibly naive people with large stacks of money they are willing to send off to a complete stranger just because they receive an e-mail asking for it. (Something I've never understood: Where do people so dumb get large stacks of money in the first place? They can't all be pop singers).
Today comes a new example. Chicago, home of Barack Obama, is going through such tough times it has cut the going rate in its gun amnesty program in half. The city can only afford to fork over 50 bucks for guns surrendered under the program, rather than the usual $100.
