How to perpetuate bias and intolerance on Canadian university campuses

A Full Comment reader sends in these observations: There are two advertisements for university positions listed in the business section of April 7th’s Globe and Mail on Page B20. They both are troublesome in indicating the direction of our universities, especially when considering the recent articles on reverse racism by Barbara Kay and Jonathan Kay in the National Post, and the statement to Ann Coulter by the provost of the University of Ottawa  1. The first advertisement, by the University of Windsor, is for a Director of the Office of Human Rights, Equity, and Accessibility. It is seeking “Those who would contribute to the further diversification of the University include, but are not limited to, women, persons with disabilities, members of visible minorities, and members of sexual minority groups. The University of Windsor invites individuals to apply to its welcoming community and to self-identify as a member of one of these groups. First, I am surprised they didn’t include minority religion groups in their list of qualifications. That is the only minority group omitted except for the mentally disabled.
