Christie Blatchford: Controversy grows over why judge took ‘nuclear’ option in Rob Ford ruling
As lawyers for embattled Toronto Mayor Rob Ford filed their application for a stay of a judge’s order giving Mr. Ford the boot from office, the controversy surrounding the order itself is quietly growing.

They won’t admit it, but they’re simply acknowledging what their greatest enemies — rightwingers — have argued for decades.

We’re just sick of hearing you bitch.
As with “Islamo-nausea,” I propose “Homo-nausea.”
Anyhow, score this an yet another “win” you’ll never get credit for, my fellow bigots.

Dubai plans yet another 'world's biggest shopping mall'
Published November 27, 2012
FoxNews.com
The United Arab Emirates announced plans for new mega-mall that could literally be a shop-till-you drop experience.
Dubai says it will build a new tourism-retail center dubbed the Mall of the World that will include the shopping complex that would outclass the Dubai Mall, previously billed as the worlds largest. The Dubai Mall currently has 1,200 stores and 160 food and beverage outlets.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, the UAE vice president, prime minister and ruler of Dubai, revealed plans for the new tourism city via an official statement and Twitter.
“Today we launched new city in Dubai, it will host world’s largest mall accommodating 80 million shoppers a year and a park that will receive 35 million,” the royal tweeted on Saturday.
The shopping center named the Mall of the World and hyped as the world's largest, is planned for the outskirts of downtown in the United Arab Emirates shopping mecca. The massive complex is projected to attract 80 million visitors annually, reports the International Business Times.
Plans for the new development include more than 100 hotels, a fun-filled and family-oriented entertainment center created in partnership with Universal Studios, and an outdoor park that includes art galleries and golf courses that is expected to be 30 percent bigger than London's Hyde Park.
The development plans for the new city are largely divided into four themes: family tourism, retail, art galleries and an integrated environment for entrepreneurship and innovation in the region.
The family attraction will be the biggest of its kind in the Middle East and African region.
In the past two months Dubai has announced several new projects, including a 60,000-seat horse-racing stadium and hotel complex in Dubai and a replica of India’s Taj Mahal, four times the size of the original.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.

LUCAS OLENIUK/TORONTO STAR FILE PHOTO Toronto's auditor general released a report Thursday saying this new city shelter at 129 Peter St. will cost $11.5 million, double what council approved for the project. And when it finally does open its doors, it'll be more than two years past the original May 2008 completion date.

As A Senior Would You Want YOUR KIDS RUNNING THE COUNTRY?
That reality is just a unsupervised social network away...maybe it is time to take the doors off the kid's bedrooms and invite them to the living room to talk, watch tv, etc. and get out to school board meetings and the classrooms. This approach might seem a little dictitorial but look at what being friends with your kids has accomplished!

About right -
"T.O.'s left doing via the courts what they couldn't do at the ballot box."
...no apologies, in this instance, for using this comparison! If there was ever a case for Recall legislation this is justification. It would have given approximately 380K citizens, who elected Ford, an opportunity to excercise their democratic freedom!
Being conservative put Ford in the crosshairs

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has been in the lefties’ crosshairs for years, not for incompetency but because he’s a fat, middle class, conservative guy’s guy.

Media Bias OR Personal Freedom Of Expression
IMHO everything a politician does is a conflict of interest...if he lobbies councilors/community groups to being in a bylaw that I oppose he is in a conflict and his reward is re-election.
A bad law is behind Rob Ford's ouster — even the judge agrees
Christie Blatchford:
Toronto Mayor Rob Ford got the boot because an opportunistic citizen hired a savvy lawyer who found a club of an arcane statute
383,501 Torontonians voted for Rob Ford — not one voted for the men behind his ouster
So, Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has been given the boot from office because an opportunistic citizen hired a smart and politically savvy lawyer who found a club of an arcane statute
Mayor Rob Ford's punishment hardly fits the crime
James: All Torontonians will pay for Rob Ford's ‘wilful blindness’
City is now without a mayor and may have to pay $7 million for new election (148)
Mayor Rob Ford exploited divisions within Toronto
Ford’s message is that the rules of our society don’t apply to him.
