Mississauga City Workers Taped Up and Spanked

A bizarre story out of Mississauga, Ont., involving the duct-taping and spanking of workers at the transportation and works department.

Department commissioner Martin Powell says employees were taped up, spanked and humiliated at the behest of one of their supervisors.

And, Powell says the supervisor found to have instigated the physical and mental humiliation, is still employed by the city.

He says some of the abuse was videotaped and shown to an independent investigations company hired by the city when the incidents came to light.

Reached at her home Tuesday night, Mayor Hazel McCallion said she would comment once she is ``debriefed on all the reports.''

Powell told the Toronto Star a probe began when an employee brought a cellphone video to human resources managers showing two employees being duct-taped.
