It will certainly make the mayors of Mississauga and Vaughan happy to get those extra property tax payers and the unions would be delighted at the possibility of them opening factories where these companies would pay more to manufacture their goods than they presently do. And let's not forget that these head offices will want to increase trade...but it will be imports not exports. What's Ontario's trade inbalance.....a couple of billion +.....We should be opening head offices in china!
As far as the "human rights issue" let's not forget that past mayors led a council that made Toronto a "Nuclear Free Zone" and you must admit we haven't been nuked......

I've been told that last week the Chinese authorities in Beijing were shaking in their shorts while the Ontario legislature debated the Tibet issue. When deputy premier George Smitherman expressed "concern with the current situation in Tibet and encouraged the parties to engage in meaningful dialogue," the Chinese government immediately called the Dalai Lama and begged for forgiveness.
