A Question For Dullton McGinty

Has he contacted the governments of those countries from which the diverse groups emigrated and asked them to include the Lord's Prayer in the opening of their sessions?

So Dalton McGuinty wants to replace the Lord’s Prayer with something more appropriate as a prelude to the daily business in the Ontario legislature. Should we be taking this seriously, coming from a guy who obviously didn’t learn the lesson of John Tory and is messing with religious sensibilities when it isn’t really necessary?

Until McGuinty flagged it, who knew that passages imploring us to live by the golden rule or to “lead us not into temptation” would be seen as objectionable. Instead, how about as a daily reminder to our public servants on how to set their moral compass? Yet the Premier is bucking for a makeover, not because of any public outcry, but due to that great over-riding conceit of all liberals; to prove to everyone just how progressive they are, whether prompted or not.

Heck, they’re so fixated on this ideal of being all-inclusive in all public occasions that they probably forgot to check whether the folks they’re pandering to even care a fig or not.
