They have been screwing the people of Toronto for the last three years and thanks to the apathy of the voters of Toronto they will be given a licence to continue doing so for the next four years thanks to Premier No New Taxes.
There latest hypocricy is awarding the contract for new TTC equipment without going out for competitive bids and one of their major arguments in doing so is to protect 425 jobs in Thunder Bay, Ontario and I would applaud them for this except......
.....all three of them are opposed to the expansion of the Toronto Island Airport even though this expansion by Porter Airlines would result in the purchase of 20 new 70-seat Q400 turboprop aircraft that would be built in TORONTO Bombardier Aerospace Downsview manufacturing facility. BTW I saw this plane at the CNE Air Show and it is very, very quiet.
Just another example of the majority of Toronto City Council catering to waterfront condo owners, island squatters, environuts, etc. and they figure they can tell the CAW to go screw themselves because of the stranglehold the city unions have on the mayor.
The folly of Miller's in-action is even critized by The Toronto Star which in itself leans to the left.......
Wings over island good for city core

Of the many arguments against renewed airline flights from Toronto's island airport, perhaps the oddest is that if the airport didn't exist at all, somehow the waterfront would blossom into an area of boardwalks and beaches. Yet this is an argument often used by Mayor David Miller and others opposed to any commercial use of this downtown airport.
