The Day Couldn't Get More Depressing

Even though we have accepted that No Plan B Miller would get re-elected this poll doesn't brighten up my day. Voter apathy, lack of confidence by the power brokers, etc. are indicative of the fact that while I still think Toronto is as good a place to live as anywhere else it has lost the edge that made it a great place to live.

Miller way ahead: Poll

Mayor David Miller is poised for an easy win in the battle for Toronto's top municipal job, according to a Leger Marketing poll.

Prepared for Sun Media, the poll shows that Miller enjoys the support of 44% of Torontonians who say they are "absolutely certain" to cast ballots in next Monday's election.

His main rival, Councillor Jane Pitfield got the nod from 22% of that group and candidate Stephen LeDrew hardly registered with only 2% indicating support for the Toronto lawyer.

"These are people who say they are certain to vote for David Miller; this is a fairly strong support going into one week away from the election," said Dave Scholz, vice-president of Leger.
