Let's Look At Your Books Mammoliti

It seems to me that the big issue seems to be that Ford and Holyday are not using city designated suppliers for some of their purchases and of course this violates the agreement that the leftists have with the unions who are suckling at the city's fiscal teats..........

Look into everyone's books, says Holyday

Councillor Doug Holyday says he has no problem with subjecting his office expense claims to scrutiny by Toronto's auditor-general – he'd just like everyone else on council to join him.

Holyday (Ward 3, Etobicoke Centre) and Councillor Rob Ford (Ward 2, Etobicoke North) have been targeted by other councillors because they regularly submit tiny expense claims.

Last week, council's executive committee recommended that the two tight-fisted councillors should have their spending – or lack of it – probed by the auditor-general and council's integrity commissioner.

Councillors are given a yearly office expense budget of $53,100. While many spend a generous portion of the allowed amount, Ford last year claimed zero for office expenses, while Holyday claimed $1,471.

Councillors on the executive committee, led by Giorgio Mammoliti (Ward 7, York West), complained that the two may be violating city policy by paying some expenses out of their own pockets.

Holyday, who was out of town last week, said all councillors' expenses should be audited once a term.

"I don't have any concern at all about them auditing mine," he said in an interview yesterday.

"What I intend to do is to adjust that motion slightly to have the auditor audit all members of council. I'd suggest he would do it over a four-year period, doing 11 (councillors) each year," he said. "I would volunteer to be in the first group, as long as Giorgio Mammoliti was in there."

He said taxpayers might be surprised at how some councillors spend.

"I'm pretty sure when you go through $50,000 you're going to get some things that are going to be startling," he said.

I lean to the right but I still have a heart and if I have a mission it is to respond to attacks on people not available to protect themselves and to point out the hypocrisy of the left at every opportunity.MY MAJOR GOAL IS HIGHLIGHT THE HYPOCRISY AND STUPIDITY OF THE LEFTISTS ON TORONTO CITY COUNCIL. Last word: In the final analysis this blog is a relief valve for my rants/raves.
