GOOD SAMARITAN SHOT IN BACK
A motorist who tried to offer someone help got shot in the back for his troubles, Toronto Police said yesterday.
"For some reason, he thought this individual needed help, so he got out of his car and then he's shot in the back," Det. Mark Charuk said.
The victim, 28, is in fair condition in hospital. He was wounded around 11 p.m. Thursday at Allenbury Gardens near Don Mills Rd. and Sheppard Ave.
HIV SUSPECT IN T.O.?
A Hamilton man who allegedly doesn't tell his sexual partners he is HIV positive is believed to be in Toronto.
Daniel Edgar Chin, 28, is wanted for sexual assault by Hamilton Police, who allege he has had two sexual partners recently and has kept his HIV status a secret.
Chin stands 5-foot-9 and weighs 174 pounds with a medium build.
STAB VICTIM MENDING
A teen is recovering in hospital after being stabbed in the stomach yesterday.
The 17-year-old was attacked in a home on Kendleton Dr., near Finch Ave. and Albion Rd., around 12:30 a.m.
The youth is in stable condition and is expected to recover.
The suspect fled and has not been arrested.
KID PORN, POT CHARGES
A 26-year-old Richmond Hill man was charged yesterday with possessing child porn and marijuana.
York Regional Police officers with the year-old Internet Child Exploitation Unit said they were tipped off Thursday about a suspect.
While executing a search warrant, police seized six computer hard drives worth of material and dozens of DVDs and CD-Roms.
During the search, officers discovered marijuana that was packaged in individual "baggies," police alleged.
Eric Gantwerger is to appear in a Newmarket court today.
