- British Tories look to Canadian Liberals for a lesson on the economy
-
Hard as it may be to believe, A British newspaper has actually carried an article involving Canada that doesn't sneer at how boring it is, misidentify the prime minister, or mention either the Mounties or seals. The Independent looks closely at Paul Martin's rescue of the economy in the 1990s, and whether similar techniques could apply today:
1) Would he have been able to do it with a minority in the House?
2) Would he have been able to do it in the middle of a recession?
3) A lot of his success was done on the backs of "the have" provinces.

He -did- start the process in the middle of a recession.
He wasn't STPID enough to cut the GST which did NOTHING but buy Harper votes.
So, enjoy. Enjoy bigger, deeper deficits WE BOUGHT BUY PAYING FOR KING HARPER'S VOTES.
We need to boot those incompetent jerks out of office before they send us to the depths that Mulroney did.
