Toronto's top CEOs have delivered a fi rm message to the politicians who want to run this city: Fix the gridlock.
In a survey released yesterday, 100 senior executives with head offi ces in the Greater Toronto Area said the most important issue facing the business community and the biggest issue in the election should be transportation and transit.
"Gridlock impacts virtually every area of business," said Glen Stone, spokesman for the Toronto Board of Trade. "It is bad for business, bad for the city and getting worse."

Jobs are still leaving the city -- and fast |
Toronto continues to bleed jobs.
According to a survey of large-company CEOs in the GTA, 25% said they have moved jobs out of the City of Toronto in the past year.
Higher costs, including tax levels, forced the moves, 36% of the respondents said.
But taxes only came second in the key issues that must be addressed in this election behind gridlock. The Board of Trade's Glen Stone said one reason is the tax-sensitive companies have already packed up.
Toronto's lost 100,000 jobs the past 15 years, he said.
Mayor David Miller said the business education tax charged by the province is the biggest difference between the 416 and 905 areas.
