Thank You Premier "NO NEW TAXES" McGinty

The average home and business owner in the City Of Toronto are paying twice......

Taxpayers hit by TTC premiums
Transit union owed $12M
By BRIAN GRAY, TORONTO SUN

Toronto taxpayers must pay millions of dollars for TTC employees' Ontario Health Premium costs, the province's highest court has ruled.

Amalgamated Transit Union Local 113 president Bob Kinnear said his members are owed about $12 million in premiums they've already paid.

In addition to the retroactive payment, Toronto Transit Commission chairman Adam Giambrone estimated the continuing cost of covering the premium to be $5 million to $6 million a year.

"This is going to cost taxpayers a lot of money," said Giambrone, adding the payout possibility was accounted for in this year's budget.

The TTC could decide to take the matter to the Supreme Court of Canada.

"I would say right now that is extremely unlikely we will go any further with it," Giambrone said yesterday.

Of course the city won't fight this......
