Toronto Star Fails To Get Straight Facts

The "Malvern" mentioned in the story must be in some place other than Toronto. The mayor, who poured $600K into areas like the Malvern area in Toronto to help at risk kids, and the police chief, who trumpeted the massive number of arrests of the Malvern Boys over a year ago, have made it clear they have gang violence under control.

A man was rushed to hospital Monday with a bullet lodged in his abdomen.

The man, who is in his 20s, was shot in a parkette by a school in the Neilson Rd. and Sheppard Ave. E. around 9:45 p.m. A passerby called 911.

The man told police he heard two shots and then felt pain. He was shot in his lower left back. The seriousness of his injuries are unknown.

This is the Malvern area’s third reported shooting in just under three weeks.

Colves Meggoe, 50, died of a single gunshot to his chest Nov. 14 after two men entered his home on Horseley Hill Dr., near Neilson Rd. and Finch Ave. E.

Meggoe’s neighbours regarded him as a community leader and mentor.

Two men have been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the case.

About two weeks later, emergency crews found a 30-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his chest lying on the ground on Wingarden Ct. near Nielson Rd. and Finch Ave. E.

Witnesses reported hearing three gunshots and seeing two men run toward a van shortly before 8 p.m.
