I Am Having A Terrible Morning

Thunder and lightening has got the dog all upset, I am still shocked and horrified over the execution of the young Amish girls in Pennsylvania and now the following CTV poll. I am not surprised with the poll results and while I know it is still early and I know Pitfield's figures will improve the poll shows how adept Miller is at hiding behind his cretins on city council so that nothing sticks to him....truly a teflon mayor. I wonder if the poll results would have been different if some of the questions were:

* do you approve of the way Miller dealt with Julian Fantino
* do you approve of the delay by Miller coming on stream regarding street violence
* has Miller been a good fiscal manager
* do you approve of how Miller managed the wildcat strike by TTC workers
* do you approve of Miller's failure to follow the recommendations in the Bellemy Report especially the tendering process and the openess of city council
* and the list goes on and on.

Miller way out in front in mayor's race: CTV poll

CTV.ca News Staff

David Miller is way ahead in the race for mayor with 65 per cent support from decided Toronto voters, while main contender Jane Pitfield has only 32 per cent, according to an exclusive poll for CTV Toronto.

The Strategic Counsel survey found the most important issues for residents is crime and gun violence, while infrastructure/public transportation/traffic comes in a close second.

The poll finds the electorate is almost as equally satisfied with Mayor Miller's progress as it was 10 months ago. Sixty-six per cent are content with his work, down only three per cent from November 2005.

The telephone survey was conducted between Sept. 26 to 30, the final week candidates were able to enter the municipal election. It involves only the two front-runners: Miller, the incumbent, and Pitfield, a city councillor.

Stephen LeDrew, the third high-profile contender who filed his nomination papers just before the deadline, is not included.
