Withdrawal From Afganhistan

Afghanistan: Someone bangs it on the nose

November 9th, 2006 by Darcey

Shades of this mornings post on Canadian giver-uppers like Jack Layton calling for an exit strategy:

The raging violence in southern Afghanistan should be a wake-up call to western nations, not an excuse to give up, says a new report by a respected international conflict studies group.

The Belgium-based International Crisis Group says there is nothing “inevitable about failure in Afghanistan,” but some major policies of both NATO and the Afghan government must be reconsidered. […]

“The desire for a quick, cheap war followed by a quick, cheap peace is what has brought Afghanistan to the present, increasingly dangerous situation,” says the group, which has a self-appointed mission to prevent and resolve conflicts. (CP)

They include 21 recommendations which can be read on their website.

About Me

My photo
I lean to the right but I still have a heart and if I have a mission it is to respond to attacks on people not available to protect themselves and to point out the hypocrisy of the left at every opportunity.MY MAJOR GOAL IS HIGHLIGHT THE HYPOCRISY AND STUPIDITY OF THE LEFTISTS ON TORONTO CITY COUNCIL. Last word: In the final analysis this blog is a relief valve for my rants/raves.
