Somewhere in the city he claims to care so deeply about, His Blondness was most assuredly crying in his beer last night.

In his 3 1/2 years as the city's less-than-benevolent dictator -- legendary for his ability to strong arm his good socialist soldiers to see the world his way -- Mayor David Miller has not lost a vote on a key issue.

Not until yesterday. Mark July 16 -- not as Black Tax Day in which duplicate land transfer and vehicle ownership taxes were thrust upon enraged Toronto citizens -- but the day the mayor suffered his first (and hopefully not his last) crushing blow in his efforts to raise more money to bail out his deficit-plagued tax-and-spend regime.
