A simple decision by social in-activists, in our school system, to ignore the fact that there are children in the system that are not documented just contributes to the attitude of condoning illegal activities. I feel sorry for the kids but.......there is a system in place if you wish to come to Canada and I welcome you with open arms if you are willing to become an unhypenated citizen with your primary loyality going to the country you selected as your new home.
- Jonathan Kay: All you need to know about what's wrong with our refugee admission system
… in one incredibly hard-to-understand flowchart!
The image above appears in Chapter 7 of yesterday's Auditor General report ("Detention and Removal of Individuals — Canada Border Services Agency"), in which Sheila Fraser outlines the redundant, dilatory procedures that tens of thousands of failed refugee applicants have used to keep delaying their deportation from Canada.
As Fraser concluded in the text accompanying the diagram: "The longer it takes to process a removal order, the greater the cost and effort to remove the individual. Exhibit 7.1 depicts a simplified version of the detentions and removals process. During the removal process, the individual may apply for a Pre-removal Risk Assessment, or to become a permanent resident. If this risk assessment is negative or if the application for permanent residency is declined, the Agency may still have difficulty obtaining travel documents such as passports or the authority to remove the individual to his or her destination country. The combination of these factors can add years to the removal process." (My emphasis)
