Let's Look Back On The History Of Con Jobs

* How many promises did Dalton McGinty make regarding financial assistance to the City of Toronto? How many did he keep?

*When Bob Rae kicked David Peterson's butt, a liberal premier, how many promises did he make? None of them included running up the debt to $10 billion or Rae Days, etc.

But once again, out of the darkness, comes the saviour of the City Of Toronto........

Finally, a party leader at Queen's Park is offering concrete solutions – including specific dollar amounts – to fix the damage done by years of provincial unfairness to Ontario's municipalities.

It is easy to make promises and be very specific if you know there isn't a chance in hell you will win an election.

Interesting, that you list the last few premiers, and their shortcomings, yet somehow, Harris isn't. Just a reminder. Bob Rae, -then- Harris, followed by McGuinty.

Oh riiiight! Harris is a tory. Harris' shit don't stink.

Credibility, equals a big fat zero.

What promises did Harris make?

Cut taxes....which he did.

Bring social assistance in line with other provinces....which he did.

Bring school board salaries to a realistic level.....which he did.

He made a few others which he probably kept because he won a second term with a majority.

I think their is a saying about people don't realize the smell might be their own........

you might have forgotten the total gutting of services and yet somehow missing the boat on balancing budget despite the gutting. Wasn't that a promise too? But I suppose that could be an oversight on your part we'll just assume that.

Personally I don't think any of the three are blameless at all, but that might the basic difference between you and I, I question all of them, whereas you have a very troublesome and unquestioning allegiance to one.

What services did he "totally gut?"

I will pose this question over and over.....if Harris, may he play golf in peace, was so terrible why did he win re-election with a majority. If I was to find fault with Harris is that during his second term he started to move to the center.

Next if you were working during the Harris period and were paying income tax what did you do with the tax cut that your received.

Even you will admit that taking the tax cut while insulting harris is a little hypocritical.

In retrospect I thank gawd that you and I are different. I have enough shortcomings and I don't think I could stand being know as a curmudgen.

let's see. I bought a second tv. Meanwhile, healthcare was not invested in the way it needed to be, the environmental funding was gutted, (Walkerton? Thank god drunken Sam was to blame eh???) should we go on?

Yeah I enjoyed my second tv. And I got more than some did. Perhaps they took the family out for dinner.

Just your buddy John Tory is hollering tax cuts just as the liberals are getting the province in the black, which is ---what the tories failed to do even though they PROMISED---.

Sorry, I don't swallow the kool aid.

And before you go throwing liberal leftie accusations out (because I know they a comin and comin fast...) I have plenty of problems with the liberals. So that says a lot about the tories if lying "carsalesman" McGuinty was able to pull off what Harris failed on.

It's all relative my boy, it's all relative.

I find your familarity is little sickening. But that aside give me some facts not liberal and left wing propoganda.....

What was the deficit when Bob Rae left office? What was it when Harris left office?

Who commissioned the task force on hospitals which recommended closing certain facilities? (IMPO a big mistake)

What was the budget before and after Harris left in:

* education
* health care.

You have to get over this Harris syndrome....I will bet that your blame the apple industry and women for the state of the world.

oh no. Don't give me the tory party line either. First you accuse me of 'leftist' propaganda and then turn around and do it yourself.

What did mr. Harris do to improve healthcare and education?

Any half wit (sorry...) can figure out that with a fast growing population and a growing demand on services, funding absolutely must keep pace. Did it? Or are you trying to pass off the increases as "improvements"?

And did he not promise to balance the budget yes or no, and why was it not done in 8 years?

That said, I believe the same questions must be posed to Mr. McGuinty.

I find your bias laughable and sad at the same time, particularly when the same tory supporters who rail against McGuinty's flip flop in regards to the health tax seem rather mum on Harper's flip flop on income trusts, which wiped out a lot of retirement savings.

Oh and how is the health care wait times priority going from Harper? It seems strangely absent from their list of priorities these days.

If Harper was a liberal, you would have tarred and feathered him for it.

I feel very childish responding to the majority of your posts because you fail to answer direct questions......

What was the deficit when Bob Rae left office? What was it when Harris left office?

Who commissioned the task force on hospitals which recommended closing certain facilities? (IMPO a big mistake)

What was the budget before and after Harris left in:

* education
* health care.

If you don't answer the questions this posting is closed to you. And you can forget your churlish comments on refusal.
