Police Seek Help Finding Source Of Explosive Envelopes
Toronto Police are looking for the public's help after two explosive envelopes were recently discovered.
The first incident took place on Saturday, August 11, 2007, at about 9 p.m., after an envelope was found at a home in the Victoria Park Avenue/Lawrence Avenue East area. When the envelope was opened, it exploded, injuring the victim's hands.
A few days later, on Sunday, August 19, 2007, at about 3 p.m., another suspicious envelope was found at a home in the Yonge Street/Sheppard Avenue West area. The package had a petroleum-like odour and police were called. The envelope was later detonated.
Both packages were 8 1/2" x 11", plastic, bubble-wrapped envelopes with properly-addressed courier receipts attached.
Police are advising members of the public to exercise caution with unexpected packages or envelopes.
