You Make The Decision You Pay The Freight

Put downloading aside temporarily and look at the spending decisions made at the local level that only effect the local citizenry. Why should our neighbors pick up the tab

City running on almost-empty

You choose: Massive service cuts or a massive property tax increase.

Personally I would choose a little from column A and a little from column B. Cut services that don't directly impact on me when it comes to safety, security and health and raise taxes only to cover those services. Get along on fried rice for a while and order the Peking Duck only when you can afford cash to pay up front .

Has their even been a hint that Comrade Miller and the Politboro will tell city unions that there is no money in the pot for wage and benefit increases? I am a retiree from a large utility and get a fair pension but I don't get any reductions in the cost of the essential service they provide so why am I paying for TTC pensioners and others riding free ? I don't get the leaves on my property cleaned up by the city or have my sidewalks plowed by the city so why am I paying for these services for others?

About Me

My photo
I lean to the right but I still have a heart and if I have a mission it is to respond to attacks on people not available to protect themselves and to point out the hypocrisy of the left at every opportunity.MY MAJOR GOAL IS HIGHLIGHT THE HYPOCRISY AND STUPIDITY OF THE LEFTISTS ON TORONTO CITY COUNCIL. Last word: In the final analysis this blog is a relief valve for my rants/raves.
