A man faces several charges, including attempted murder, after a woman was nearly thrown off her ninth-floor balcony Friday evening in the city's northeast end.
Police said witnesses reported the accused was choking a woman and attempting to lift her over the balcony's railing, while their four children watched, around 8:45 p.m.
The 33-year-old suspect couldn't lift the victim over the railing, and proceeded to beat her as she slipped into the fetal position on the floor of the balcony, police said.
Police said the man ceased beating his wife when witnesses started yelling at him to stop.
The accused also faces charges of choking and assault with a weapon.
Police said the woman sustained minor injuries
